Short version:
This is an unofficial, fan-created amateur fansite. I'm NOT Bill, I don’t know Bill, and I don’t know any code or web design. I’m just a fan who wants to celebrate Bill's awesomeness.
The longer story:
This fansite was launched in September
2014, but the inspiration for it was sparked almost ten years earlier.
A second-generation Saturday Night Live fan, born during the 12th season (1986-87), I grew up on a mix of current episodes and old
reruns –– having a most sentimental feeling for the era of my childhood, the
Phil Hartman years. SNL has always been a part of my life.
New SNL cast members come and go with the seasons, but in
2005, new featured player Bill Hader caught my attention immediately. With his chillingly spot-on impersonations and
unique characters, he could have me rolling on the floor laughing and crying
almost every time he was on screen. It quickly became clear to me that he was one of
the best cast members in SNL history.
In the early years of Bill's time on SNL, I was a frequent visitor to a fan-created fansite,
twisted-laughter –- later haderwithad and still later, billhader.org. If that website was still active, there would be
no need for this one. It was a beautifully designed site created by a
webmistress 100 times more talented and skilled than I.
That website boasted a Q&A section called the
Bill Chat, wherein users could post a question or comment and be answered by
Mr. Hader himself. As an 18-year-old girl in Nebraska with no means
to travel, it was absolutely incredible to have the opportunity to communicate
with Bill in this way. Thank you so much, Kelly.
With that website no longer in operation as its
creator pursues her career, I have stepped in to fill the void. Now 27, I still live in Nebraska, where I work as
a librarian to pay the bills while I try to put myself through college and attempt not to spend too much money on my website, my Stefon merchandise, and DVDs of Bill Hader's movies.
